The Florence Crittenton Agency gets my vote! Great organization. There are very few organizations in America who really care about girls and young women. The more we support girls the more we life up our community. This organization is making a significant positive impact on the girls in our community.

There are a lot of great organizations in Knoxville, and the Community Design Center has assisted most of them, they get my vote for helping other organizations, making their assistance magnified many times.

The ETCD is great! They help so many groups that could not find, or fund, the kind of assistence that the Design Center can give.Their work is exponential in that it helps each organization or group helped to assist others.They are a blessing to this region of East Tennessee.

The AMSE Foundation provides the means for area school children to visit the American Museum of Science and Energy and be provided a learning experience in a variety of science oriented programs.

SOCM uses the critically tools associated with community organizing to help everyday people reach self-determination. It moves past a charity model of “doing for” into a justice model of “doing with.”

Child and Family Tennessee serves so many from children to adults, from all economic backgrounds, they have helped put families back together, helped with addiction, mental health, parenting, foster children and kids in custody. They have helped and changed so many lives to become self-sufficient.

The Shangri-La Therapeutic Academy of Riding fosters personal achievement by providing therapeutic experiences using horse related activities for persons with disabilities or other special challenges!

They are all wonderful organizations. I’m voting for diaperLove…A new nonprofit that provides diapers to families in need. Families can’t use Food Stamps or WIC to buy diapers. Daycares require disposable…so for families, single parents or grandparents trying to keep a job, they need disposable diapers or they can’t drop off their child. A baby shouldn’t have to be in a dirty diaper for hours and hours or over night because a parent needs help. This organization has already given 800,000 diapers to babies who deserve to be comfortable and have their dignity.

Texting 22333 doesn’t work. Is there a prefic needed?

CONTACT Helpline is a free, confidential, nonjudgmental telephone helpline serving Anderson, Blount, Grainger, Jefferson, Knox, Loudon, Roane, Sevier, and Union counties in East Tennessee. About 10,000 calls a year are received. Some of those callers are suicidal. Others are needing someone to talk out their problems with or are needing referral to local resources. Because it is an anonymous service, it doesn’t get much attention but still needs funds to operate. I SUPPPORT CONTACT HELPLINE. Hope you will too.

I vote for Knoxville Volunteer Emergency Rescue Squad, a true volunteer agency saving lives everyday. The members are not paid and spend their time training for water rescue, confined space rescue, car accident rescue, etc. Support this wonderful organization that may be your lifesaver one day!

No offense to “Statewide Organizing for Community eMpowerment TNAcheives” which sounds strangely like a union special interest group or “Annas Angels” which apparently came into existense about a year ago but of all the organizations listed here I would put them as the leaster relevant/important. Sorry Blue Out but your voting process seems flawed.

Appalachian Bear Rescue saves orphaned black bears and returns them to the wild.

It’s flawed because they are a year old? Sounds like somebody is upset because their organization is not getting people to stand behind them? They got my vote solely on this comment.

I voted for Appalachian Bear Rescue.. They rehabilitate black bears after injuries or being orphaned and help return them to the wild. after all what would Tennessee and the Smokies be without the black bears??
